Top 5 Software Lead Generation Companies

Okay, so the term “Software Lead Generation Companies” could mean a lot of things to a lot of people.  For the purposes of this article, I’m referring to software platforms that can be used to drive leads, primarily for B2B businesses.  The goal here should be to try to get as many of the “channels” working for you as possible and then lean into the channels that have the best Cost Per Sale and highest growth potential.

#1 – LinkedIn

Number 1 for me on this has to be LinkedIn.  While we’re not a software company, LinkedIn has been out best outbound lead generation source.  We use Recruiter Corporate which gives us 150 InMail messages per month for $1,080 per seat.  Our own in-house stats are that for every 100 InMail messages that we send, we send 10.5 proposals and get 3 sales.  So, our average Cost Per Sale is $1,080 / 3 = $360 which is actually cheaper than all of our other lead sources except for referrals.


#2 – WordPress

Although WordPress is just a Content Management System (CMS), it’s an incredible lead generation tool as well.  Currently, about 24% of all of our deals at Lead PPC come from writing content (like what you’re viewing here) on WordPress.  It’s taken us years to build up our content so that it produces consistently, but it’s definitely the gift that keeps giving once you have a lot of content out there.  We noticed that once we got above 100 articles that things really started flowing.  And, now we produce 300+ articles per year, or about 1 per day.


#3 – Google Ads

The runner up for us here at Lead PPC is going to be Google Ads.  Our average Cost Per Opportunity on Google Ads is $162 and our average Cost Per Sale (CPS) is $1,072.  But, what’s not taken into account here is that once we get a sale from Google Ads, we also tend to get referrals, so the adjusted CPS on that is even better.


#4 – Bing Ads

Bing Ads is one that’s easy to forget about but can work quite well.  The main issue with Bing Ads is that the volume isn’t nearly as high as Google Ads.  For us, we only generate about 9% of the lead volume on Bing Ads as we do on Google Ads.  But, all things considered, they both work great.


#5 – Meta Ads

We haven’t had great success for our type of business on Meta Ads.  For B2B, it’s not nearly as consistent (audience burnout is easy) as LinkedIn Recruiter Corporate, but if you’re a retail business of any kind selling consumer products, it can be an absolute must.
